The Accommodation.

... a Provencal house at La Napoule just 10 minutes from Cannes ...A great location for either a restful or active holiday.  The house is situated in a small 'Residence Privee' with a 25 metre swimming pool, Tennis Court and Boules Court.  Although the pool is not private to the house it is only a few steps away , is well maintained and not heavily used by the residents. 
The house sleeps six people in two double bedrooms with double beds, and one smaller bedroom with two single beds. Linen provided. Plenty of storage space including an attic room. 
There is a shower room with toilet, a main bathroom with shower, plus a downstairs cloakroom.

A large spacious living area opening out on to  terrace with barbeque and garden with a view over the lake.

Location:

25 minutes from Nice Airport there is a bus to nearby Mandelieu, or Cannes, for just 9 Euros.  Train station at La Napoule.  British Airways has a variety of flights to Nice at reasonable prices, as well as EasyJet. 10 minutes to Cannes, by car, with Nice, Monaco, Menton and Ventimiglia (the Italian border town) within easy distance for day tours.  Easy access to the A8. The sea and beach, restaurants, banks and other facilities are within walking distance.

Activities:

La Siange River is across the road which has a pretty river -side walk down to the sea/beach at La Napoule - you don't have to drive and park.   Cruisers can be hired at the marina.  Sailing, windsurfing and diving are available at the beach. There are several beaches.  
Fishing is popular along the Siagne. Lots of walking and cycling in the Massif de l'Esterel  on cooler days, as well as visits to Lac de St. Cassien and the mountain villages.

 

Golf

there are three golf courses within walking distance of the house, lying either side of La Siagne.     The Sofitel Hotel in La Napoule houses a casino.

Skiing in the French Alps

The ski resort of Greoliere les Neiges is perfect if you want to try skiing whilst on a winter break, without the expense of a full week at a ski resort. You can drive up for the day and return to the house in good time for supper.

This small ski resort is situated in the Alpes Maritimes department in the Southern Alps on a north facing bowl.. The area served by lifts extends from 1400 metres to 1800 metres. There are 9 Green runs, 3 Blue, 15 Red and 3 Black.

The resort is located just 45 km from Antibes and Nice and is just 20km from the coast. The proximity of the Mediterranean sea means that the season is shorter than other local resorts such as Isola 2000 but 7 pistes are covered by snow canons ensuring a Christmas opening.    

Shopping

All necessary supplies are available at Mandelieu which can be reached either by walking or by car.   Mandelieu  has two good supermarkets, Casino and Geant,  banks and plenty of bistros and restaurants.   Market days - Wednesdays and Fridays.   Cannes is more interesting for boutiques.  

Internet access:

There is a good Internet Café in Mandelieu at l'Espace Roundabout. English keyboards available; English spoken.  

Autumn and Winter Breaks:

This area is also good in the Autumn and Winter.  Apart from walking and touring,  Skiing is available at Auron, with its'  small mountain village atmosphere, or ISOLA 2000. – both about 2 ½ hours drive away.
